The W3C is the body that maintains standards on the internet ensuring inter operability and accessibility to all. It was founded in October 1994, by Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web to allow the pioneers of HTML and the Web Browser to be compatible by agreeing on a set of standards, as at that time there was contention between Microsoft and Netscape.

The W3C has a function that allows you to check if a web site has valid code, every page we build complies to this. There are two main reasons for this, firstly it means the web site is accessible to all and secondly it helps with the web sites search engine ranking.

The if a page is W3C valid then it is more than likely also DDA Compliant.
