DDA Compliancy is another phrase that has been quoted widely on the internet. In 1999 the act was amended to clarify the position of web sites.

By law all web sites must be accessible to all. This mainly involves the visually impaired who require either screen readers or a magnified screen.  We will ensure that the web site we build for you is DDA compliant.

Two excerpts from the act related to web sites:-

"The Disability Discrimination Act makes it unlawful for a service provider to discriminate against a disabled person by refusing to provide any service which it provides to members of the public."

"What services are affected by the Disability Discrimination Act? An airline company provides a flight reservation and booking service to the public on its web site. This is a provision of a service and is subject to the act"

Basically, under good business practice / ethics, web sites should be equally accessible to all.
